SHIP STATISTICSGrandeur of the Seas is 74,000 tons built in Helsinki, Finland with a Norwegian registry. It holds 1,950 passengers, 760 crew, is 916 feet long, 105 feet wide and entered service in December, 1996. The officers are Norwegian and the crew is quite a mix of European/International. There 11 passenger decks. Of the 975 cabins, 212 have private balconies while 294 will accommodate a third person. There is enormous storage space, with more than enough closets and drawers for a couple cruising for a week. Standard amenities include color TV with close and pay-per-view movies, CNN, safe, lighted vanity, and individual temperature control. Bathrooms have showers and medicine cabinets. Minibars, blowdryers, stereo systems and tubs are found in the highest category staterooms. NOTE: bring your own hair dryer (this is a standard feature on all new ships except those of RCI). Royal Family Suite with Private Balcony (category AA) 517 sq. feet. accommodating up to eight people, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), sitting area with sofa bed, refrigerator, bathroom with shower/tub, vanity area, closed circuit TV, stereo system, and phone. Owner's Suite with Private Balcony (category A) is 511 sq. feet. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), sitting area with sofa bed, refrigerator, bathroom with shower/tub, vanity area, closed circuit TV, stereo system, and phone. Grand Ocean View Suite with Private Balcony (category B) is 349 sq. feet. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), sitting area with sofa bed, refrigerator, bathroom with shower/tub, vanity area, closed circuit TV, stereo system, and phone. Superior Ocean View Suite with Private Balcony (category C) is 245 sq. feet. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), sitting area with sofa bed, refrigerator, bathroom with shower/tub, vanity area, closed circuit TV, radio and phone. Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Private Balcony (category D) is 190 sq. feet. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), sitting area with sofa bed, refrigerator, bathroom with shower, vanity area, closed circuit TV, radio and phone. Larger Stateroom with Ocean View (category F, H & I) is 154 square feet. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), bathroom with shower, vanity area, closed circuit TV, radio and phone. Larger Stateroom Inside (category K & L) is 154 sq. feet and appears roomier than it is because of the mirrors. Two twin beds (can convert to queen), bathroom with shower, vanity area, closed circuit TV, radio and phone. Stateroom Inside (category M, N, O, P & Q) is 146 sq. feet and appears roomier than it is because of the mirrors.
